Vontrell Randall

Vontrell Randall, is a native of Jacksonville, Florida.  She was born the third child, a twin daughter to Robert and Betty Randall.  As an active member of her family ensuring the strong ties to her relatives is a primary goal.  The quote, “It takes a village to raise a child” is very meaningful to her. She has committed years of service to making a difference in the lives of others through community efforts, youth and adult alike.  She actively volunteers at citywide crusades, homeless shelters, social functions, community activities and church. 

Vontrell has been involved in many trainings and volunteer efforts and to name a few: Teens Against Tobacco Use (T.A.T.U)-American Cancer Society; Public Health Department- First Teen Health Advisor/Group Mentor-Training; SMART MOVES-Drugs/Alcohol/Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program as a National Trainer with Boys and Girls Clubs of America; Guardian, Guardian AD Litem Program; Volunteer, Youthtrack- Juvenile Offenders Program and P.A.C.E Center for Girls’- Training and Internship.

After leaving her hometown to further her education, January 2000, she was employed at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club, Tallahassee as the SMART MOVES- Program Coordinator. A short time later while attending the Florida State University, she served in the Office of the Dean/College of Education as a Student Administrative Assistant from August 2000-2002.  While residing in Tallahassee, Florida she assisted with the Brothers of the Academy organization, August 2000-2003.  Vontrell earned her Bachelors of Science in Social Work, 2002 from the Florida State University.

 Vontrell was formerly a Case Manager of the Early Delinquency Intervention Prevention Program at Daniel Memorial Incorporated in Jacksonville, Florida for three and a half years.  She worked diligently to improve the odds for juvenile offenders.  She was a member of the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency, 2003/06.  More recently, she served as a Program Coordinator that supported students through the Florida West Africa Linkage Institute which was created by an act of legislature to promote academic, cultural and economic exchanges between the state of Florida and the region of West Africa. 

She is currently pursuing a Masters of Social Work at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida.  As a graduate student her research interests include incarceration rates of youth offenders.  Her future goals are prevention and intervention policy planning for youth offenders and practicing criminal law.
