Rubin Cockrell

Rubin Cockrell is Founder and CEO of Positive Images & Associates, a firm that specializes in educational leadership, empowerment, and management consulting. In his role with the Nashville, TN-based Company, Cockrell trains business leaders, college students, and church groups to implement tools for achieving excellence and quality productivity within their personal life and their organization across the country.

Before launching Positive Images & Associates in 2004, Cockrell spent six years gaining experience in his field by working with Nashville-area churches, businesses, and educational institutions. Most recently, he served as program director for the Renaissance Center of Nashville, managing the center’s daily operations and coordinating presentations, lectures and workshops for the staff. He previously worked for Omni Visions, where he counseled children who were physically and emotionally abused. It was through this experience that Cockrell developed a special interest in exposing youth and young adults to goal setting techniques and interpersonal development skills.

Cockrell graduated from Fisk University in Nashville, TN with a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business, with an emphasis on Finance and Management. In August of 2004 he was awarded a Masters in Educational Administration (M.Ed) in Educational Administration from the Tennessee State University while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.  Presently Rubin Cockrell will be receiving his doctorate in May of 2007 in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University.  Mr.Cockrell has recently received the 2006 Southern Regional Educational Board Doctoral Fellowship.

In addition to remaining involved with numerous boards across the country, Rubin Cockrell is actively involved with S.M.I.L.E., Premier Investments, and mentoring young people across the country. He is also member of the American Association of Higher Education, Brothers of the Academy, and a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He enjoys traveling, attending sporting events, and spending time with family and friends.
