Dr. Kevin D. Rome Sr., Vice President for Student Services and Dean of Students, at Morehouse College is a native of Columbus, Georgia. Rome earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Morehouse College and a M.Ed. in College Student Personnel (emphasis in Counseling) from the University of Georgia. He went on to earn a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration with a minor in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Rome has served in various capacities including, Vice President for Campus Life at Clayton College & State University; Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Life and Diversity at Indiana University-Perdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI); and Assistant Dean of Students for New Student Services and Assistant Dean of Students for Campus and Community Involvement at the University of Texas. He also spent five years in the Office of Residential Life at California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo and spent two years at the University of Georgia in the Office of Housing and Residential Life, the Office of Greek Life and the Office of Financial Aid.
He is a member of numerous professional associations, including the Association of College Personnel Administrators, the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated and Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society. He is married to Stefanie and the father of Kevin Jr. and Kendel.
